What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies such as localStorage may be used for the same purposes. For how we handle personal data more broadly, see our Privacy notice.
How we use cookies
We use essential cookies and storage to remember your cookie preference and keep basic site functions working. If you accept analytics, we may use cookies to understand aggregate traffic patterns.
Types we use
Essential. Required for consent storage and security-related preferences. These do not require consent under UK PECR guidance for strictly necessary storage, though we still disclose them.
Analytics (optional). Help us see which pages are read. They load only after Accept. Rejecting analytics does not block site functionality.
Cookies table
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| insight_storage_cookie_consent | Stores Accept or Reject choice for the cookie banner | Until cleared (localStorage) | Insight Storage |
| _is_session | Maintains a short-lived technical session for form abuse checks when enabled on hosting | Session | Insight Storage / host |
| _is_analytics | Optional aggregate page-view measurement (set only after Accept) | 6 months | Insight Storage |
Managing or disabling cookies
Use Accept or Reject on our banner, or clear site data in your browser. You can also block cookies via browser settings. Essential storage may be recreated when you revisit if needed for preference memory.
Third-party cookies
Embedded fonts from Google Fonts are typically requested without setting advertising cookies; your browser may still cache font files. We do not embed social tracking pixels on this site.
Impact of disabling
Rejecting analytics has no effect on reading courses, contacting us, or browsing the journal. Blocking all storage may cause the consent banner to reappear on each visit.
